The players above were all 2026 seniors on the baseball team at North Cross High School in Roanoke, Virginia. On the left is Tristan Lange who pitched and played shortstop. Capturing the nano second the bat and baseball make contact always makes for a good photograph. Even at a shutter speed of 1/2,000th of a second you can still see some motion blur at the point of contact. Tristan will be playing baseball at VCU. Top right is Oliver Lacey who pitched and played third base. This photo captures the maximum amount of stretch in the pitching windup as the ball begins to come forward to home plate. Oliver will be playing at Virginia Tech. Bottom right is catcher Chase Shannon. The batter swings and misses as the ball is about to be swallowed up by the catcher’s glove.
