Nature - Public Gardens

I was lucky to have two picture rich locations in the Dallas / Fort Worth area. There was the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden (picture on left) and the Fort Worth Botanic Garden (picture above). Both feature acres and acres of grounds with countless varieties of flowers, shrubs and trees. There are adorned with fountains, pools, statues and other architectural structures that blend nicely with the surroundings. Each location offers a photographers paradise!

Enjoying the peaceful solitude provided by the blooming azeleas is a gentleman on a bench with what appears to be a book opened on his lap. Also there is a couple enjoying an endearing moment (which is enlarged in the small photo above). Nature can provide such a respite from the hustle and bustle of life. Along with the beautiful azaleas, that “escape” is what this picture captures. The photo was taken at the spring event at the Dallas Arboretum called “Dallas Blooms.”

There are two arches in the photo at left from the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. The most prominent is the wooden arch in the bottom right of the picture, surrounded by blooms of lavender. This arch draws your eyes attention, but hidden in plain sight is a second arch on the left where a young man is taking a picture of his lovely companion. When I was taking this picture I did not even notice them. The wooden arch was my focus. When editing the photo later I saw the couple and cropped the photo where they shared equal emphasis with the wooden arch. Which is the main focal point?
